A Keurig for your cocktail
This machine can whip up Moscow mules, margaritas, and more
Each week, we spotlight a cool innovation recommended by some of the industry's top tech writers. This week's pick is an automated cocktail maker.
If you want a cocktail at the touch of a button, Keurig now has the machine for you, said Ashley Carman at The Verge. The company known for its coffee pods has teamed up with Anheuser-Busch to sell a home drinks-mixing machine. It's an appliance that "looks and acts a lot like a Keurig — it takes single pod servings and turns them into cocktails, alcohol and all."
The makers released the device in St. Louis, Anheuser-Busch's home base, this week and hope to expand across the country. It launches with 15 cocktail pods, including Moscow mule, margarita, old-fashioned, and Long Island iced tea. "The Moscow mule was tasty, as was the margarita," but not dramatically different from premixed drinks such as A-B's Lime-a-Rita.
